End of Summer

Kayla came home to CB for our last few weeks of the summer. We put her to work with all of our house projects, but mostly she was on Rosie duty.
Hanging out on Kayla's lap, she likes to steal phones.
She has the best cheeks, like little dinner rolls. I just want to eat them!
Rosie loves Kayla. Maybe it's the fact that we look similar, but Rosie has always had a special place in her heart for Kayla. Most people she needs a few minutes to warm up to but she gives Kayla, instant smiles.
We spent a week in Colorado for the Tony Beck Reunion. It was fun having Rosie be with all her cousins. She just mostly just sat and stared at all of the chaos from the Beck clan. It was cute seeing Alex again, these two are just 6 weeks apart!
We had a Best Beck competition which entailed Just Dance, Speed, and Foosball. So all week long we were practicing and competing.
Rosie watching all the cousins dancing.
Hiking in the Colorado mountains! Rosie even fell asleep in the baby carrier which NEVER happens!
Four square was the game of the reunion, everyone got really in to it.
It's not a Beck reunion without family pictures!

After the reunion, we finally moved into our new place in Kansas City! We live in a 3 story townhome surrounded by LDS medical students. WE LOVE IT HERE!! The first night in our new place we learned just how important Rosie's sleep setting is. Normally we have a sound machine and blackout shades to put her sleep. Well, we forgot those two things in Iowa and it was the longest night ever. Poor girl would NOT sleep! It was awful. But now we know that the sound machine and her will be connected at the hip for life!
It was so fun buying Rosie a high chair AND her very own crib (FINALLY!) Also, IKEA is only 15 minutes away and we've already gone twice since living here. This is very dangerous...

Rosie can finally sit in the cart while we shop, I've been waiting for this day since she was born! She's the best shopping buddy.

One of my favorite things about our place is the park in our backyard. This was Rosie's first time on a swing. She was scared at first and then started being okay with it. She definitely didn't love it but I'm sure that will come.
We love Kansas City, there is so much to do and see! We spent one Saturday at the Nelson-Atkins museum with some friends.

Rosie standing all by herself in the diaper box!
Rosie is super alert. She has to always know what's happening around her. She was climbing over dad but had to look over to see what mom was doing!

Rolllllllls

When a baby has this many rolls it just needs to be documented. I dread the day when she loses her baby fat. So to memorialize it, I dedicate this entire post to my naked baby!

August

Garrick leaves before Rosie wakes up in the morning so I send him pictures for his Rosie fix.
The school gave us tickets to a royals game. It was pretty hot, we made it 6 innings and then left. Rosie was a champ and didn't mind staying up past her bedtime.
Rosie trying a banana for the first time.
 Twinsies.
Snack break with daddy on campus.
 He's completely smitten with her.
 Mirrors, a baby's best friend.
Rosie and I went to the Farmstead with some friends. We live in the best neighborhood, it's filled with LDS student families. It's like we were handed a support system, we feel super blessed. Garrick has boys to study with and carpool to school. Rosie and I have the wives and their babies to hang out with while our husbands study al day.
Rosie isn't a fan of shoes, she kept trying to take them off.
Anytime we put on hats Rosie immediately starts to cry so this is her overcoming her fears.
First time rocking pigtail buns, obviously I had to document it.
Her newest trick.
She likes to eat my face some times. The feeling is mutual.
What happens when I leave her with daddy.
Rosie rarely naps at church anymore which makes me a little sad, it's the only time she sleeps in my arms. But every once a while she falls sleeps and I love it.

Garrick Goes Back to School

Garrick's officially a medical student! He was super anxious to finally start. I'm glad he's using his brain again, the pizza making life made him a little sad. After the first week of orientation he had his White Coat Ceremony where he named "student doctor" and given his medical coat. Garrick's Grandpa and Mom came to stay with us for a couple days to attend. And my parents came down with Kayla, Garrick felt very loved having so many people come to support him.
Saturday after the ceremony we said goodbye to Kayla, she entered the MTC the following Monday.
Garrick was a little excited to use his medical kit. Rosie was a willing patient. It's pretty fun a medical student around.
